Our family absolutely adores Landon and Baylee! We make it a point to have dinner with them once a month. Anyone who knows these two has probably asked the question “When are you guys gonna get married?!”. Well, the proposal has OFFICIALLY happened! Keep reading and you will find out how it happened.

Landon approached Lara and me two months ago about his plan to propose to Baylee. It involved us taking photos of them and him proposing during the session! We knew we had to be sneaky and play the long game so that Baylee wouldn’t catch on to what was going on. During our meeting in April, the plan was for Lara to bring up wanting to get more practice in as my second shooter. After that Landon would offer for them to be our models! Baylee was totally on board! We didn’t set a date that night though. The following month (May), Lara brought up needing to set a date to practice and the plan was in motion!

Landon had a spot in mind for photos out in Rose Hill and it did not disappoint! They had found an old dirt road covered by trees right next to a huge field. This spot was perfect! Lara started out the shoot and was able to practice giving clients directions in regards to posing. The plan was for us to switch off halfway through the shoot when she ran out of ideas. I’ll finish this story once we get to the point where Landon popped the question. Check out some of the awesome shots Lara captured!

So at this point, Lara and I switched places. I was leading and directing Landon and Baylee and Lara was capturing footage for “Behind the scenes” footage. I set them in Prom Pose (This was the phrase for propose now!). Landon pretended to get a rock out of his shoe but it was really the ring. When he wrapped his arms around her for Prom Pose, the ring was in his hand! It actually took her about 20 seconds to see it because she was so focused on the session. We captured the precious moments below!

After we congratulated the happy couple, we took 5 mins to capture a few photos in the field right next to these trees. I love the pure joy that is radiating from their newly engaged faces!

Lara and I are so excited to shoot their wedding next year in June! Congrats you two!
