This engagement session was full of multiple firsts! This was actually Lara’s first engagement session that she has tagged along to photograph with me and I loved having her there. Not only does she capture amazing photos, but she also brings a relaxed energy that balances out my “over the top-ness” during a session. Next up on the lists of firsts is that this was my first engagement session since COVID19 disrupted our lives. To say that I missed photographing engagement sessions would be an understatement. I’m pumped to be able to photograph sessions again! Lastly, this was the first sunny day after 5 straight days of rain during this particular week. Our fingers were crossed for sunshine and the photography gods showed favor!
Erin and Alex started 2020 in one of the best ways possible, getting engaged! These two love birds were in New York City for New Year’s and Alex popped the question at midnight while they were on a boat watching fireworks over the Manhattan skyline. Can you say romantic?! During their session I dare you not to have a smile on your face as your scroll through their photos. It’s actually impossible! Their smiles are so real and genuine and show just how much these two enjoy each other’s company. We started out at Eastborough Park and then headed out to The Great Plaines Nature Center. Throughout our time together, Alex was constantly playing with, poking, or joking around with Erin. So many of the photos captured where Erin is busting out in laughter are because Alex was just playing around with her without our prompting. We enjoyed every second of our time with them and cannot wait for their wedding this fall!
